American Fresh Brewhouse Beer Garden 301 Canal Street , Somerville, 02145 (map)
This new series is inspired by grabbing a drink with your best friend, your four-legged pal, your loyal companion. We invite you and your pup to join us on Mondays at the Beer Garden in Assembly Row for a little quality time over a pint. Whether you’re coming off the Mystic from your after work walk, coming to socialize with other neighborhood dogs, or want to check out a new dog-friendly spot, all are welcome.
Throughout the series we will be having pet supply and pet service pop-up tables and rescue organizations with reps for those interested in rescuing, fostering, or volunteering.
This week we will be featuring Service Dog Project, Inc.
The Service Dog Project works to provide a better quality life for the mobility impaired. They have donated over 100 Great Danes to children, war veterans, individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and those with other conditions that lead to balance issues.
SDP is located on 12 acres of property with fields to play in, a large training arena, and spacious heated kennels. At any given time there are 30 dogs in training.
Once the dog is paired with an applicant the dog is uniquely trained to suit their needs.
SDP has grown to over 80 volunteers and is funded solely by community support and corporate support from donors like the Annenberg Foundation to provide a space to raise these dogs to graduation and sometimes for retirement, while also enhancing the lives of those they serve.
Come learn more about this amazing organization!! And here's a great video exemplifying their cause and mission.
We’d love to see you there and don’t worry we all have the mindset that, “In dog beers, I only had one.
